Palettes FAQ

Here are some answers to common questions about choosing the appropriate fragrance as well as helpful product tips:

Do the colors in my home have to match the exact colors on the packaging in order for me to have the right fragrance?
No. The color combinations displayed on each of the six fragrances represents the most common color combinations used to decorate homes and is merely a reference for determining which color scheme comes close to the range of colors you might have in your home.

My interior decor falls between neutral and earth tones, which fragrance should I choose?
If your interior colors fall between two color schemes, determine which colors are more dominate in your home and choose the fragrance for that color scheme. If earth tones have a stronger presence, then choose Palettes for Earth Tone interiors. If your interior is more neutral with a few accents of earth tones, then choose Palettes for Neutral Tone interiors. Always choose the fragrance that complements the dominate colors. Option: Use both and blend the two fragrances for a unique aromatic experience.

My living room is decorated with deep pastel colors, do I still chose the lighter pastel fragrance?
Yes, colors vary in value, so if your interior is in the pastel family, but in darker tones, you would still scent your room with Pastel Tone fragrance.

My style is eclectic and I have different color schemes in every room, is it alright to use different fragrances in different rooms throughout my home?
Yes. Palettes By Tod Young has been created so that any combination of fragrances can be used together in your home. These fragrances will blend harmoniously with one another no matter what combination of Palettes® fragrances you use.

I’ve decorated my home in red, white and black, which fragrance is right for this combination?
If red is the dominate color used throughout your home, then use the fragrance for Primary Tone interiors. If the majority of your decor is black and white with touches of red as accents, then choose Palettes for Gray Tone interiors.

My home is decorated in jewel tones, but I personally like the scent of the Gray Tone fragrance, can I use the Gray Tone fragrance in my jewel tone colored home?
While the concept behind Palettes is to match fragrance to the colors you have chosen to decorate your home, you may use whatever Palettes By Tod Young fragrance you like that appeals to your senses.

Do I need to have the spray and candle?
We suggest using both products in conjunction with one another for a complete aromatic experience. The spray delivers an immediate burst of fragrance and will linger in the air. Use the spray for when you want a quick infusion of fragrance or right before guests arrive. The candle is a perfect complement to the spray as it will continually fill the room with fragrance while lit.

Can I spray the fragrance on my drapes, upholstery or carpet?
No. Palettes By Tod Young is not intended to mask or remove odors from fabrics. This is a fine fragrance for the home and should be lightly misted high into the air avoiding contact with all fabrics or furniture.
